Similar to last year, over the past few days I’ve taken a few Yoga classes. I would first like to say that, unlike this year, I decided to go for Bikram Yoga classes. People are not lying to you when they tell you that these classes are very HOT! A big thank you to Kathryn for introducing me to it!
For the next seven days I’m on an unlimited pass with Bikram Yoga Forest Hill. The heat took some time to get used to, but, once I was through that, it was a great experience! Janice, the owner, shared some great information through conversation and via a take home tip sheet that outlined all the things to expect your body to go through during and after your classes. Some great information because, otherwise, I would have thought there was something wrong with me!
I suppose my body went through the usual motions in the class by feeling light headed and nauseous a few times, but overall the feeling was pretty good. Only two classes under my belt and I am already feeling great about it! I plan to take a few more classes this week and then start attending classes once or twice a week to supplement my gym regime and, once the season starts, my cycling. Since I’m somewhat of a perfectionist my main goal at yoga will be to perfect the postures, but this will definitely be a work in progress. Not sure how much I would like this type of Yoga in the middle of summer, but for the colder months, or at least until my next “fad” kicks in, it’s perfect!
Until next time!
